Big Damn Films Brings 'ARBOR DAY: The Root of Evil' Horror Roadshow and Tree-Planting Campaign to Orlando Ahead of Halloween Horror Nights
ORLANDO, FL – June 22, 2026 — Big Damn Films is bringing its practical-effects horror anthology, "ARBOR DAY: The Root of Evil," to the UniversalTM Cinemark at Universal CityWalk in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The special event kicks off at 8:00 p.m. and offers local horror fans the perfect opportunity to kickstart their fear season early before Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights officially begins on Friday, August 28.
Blending classic 80s slasher energy with modern folk horror, the micro-budget feature follows an urban explorer who learns about a New Jersey campground closes every Arbor Day while locals whisper about disappearances and eerie sightings. A curious visitor hears five chilling tales revealing the deadly force stalking the woods known as The Arborist.
Following the 8:30 p.m. screening, attendees will be treated to an exclusive Q&A session with the film's creators, Logan Liskovec and Michael Jayne, who continue to use their platform to demystify the independent filmmaking process.
"We want fans to plant themselves in the theater for an unforgettable, practical-effects-driven experience," said Michael Jayne, co-creator and producer. "With this roadshow, we are bringing our independent horror flick directly to the community while ensuring every single scare makes a tangible impact on the environment, giving genre fans the perfect appetizer before HHN kicks off in August."
General admission tickets are available for $20. A premium $100 VIP Experience, strictly limited to 13 attendees, includes preferred seating, a signed 11x17 Florida Roadshow poster, an exclusive event t-shirt, and discounted select concessions.
The tour is tied to the studio's "Mission: 1 Million Trees" campaign. Driven by a voluntary contribution model, Big Damn Films is independently contributing to the Arbor Day Foundation by planting one tree for every single ticket sold.
