The Big Damn Podcast | Episode 029 - Orlando Roadstop Recap, Fall Conventions, & a Big Damn 2027

Welcome back to the monthly behind-the-scenes look at Big Damn. In this episode, we reflect on the fantastic Orlando screening of Arbor Day: The Root of Evil at the Universal Cinemark at CityWalk. Even while competing with San Diego Comic-Con, the event drew around 41 attendees and officially cemented the film as a sleeper cult hit, catching the eye of local horror fans and a Halloween Horror Nights influencer. We are also thrilled to celebrate a massive environmental milestone: we have reached our goal of planting 250 trees, officially turning our little grove into a small forest.

The Arborist is packing his bags for a busy autumn. We are heading to Fairfax, Virginia on September 12th, followed by a massive homecoming at Jersey Horror Con in Edison, New Jersey. The hometown crowd will be treated to a free screening with convention entry, a Q&A session, and exclusive photo ops with the Arborist in full costume. After that, we are traveling to Arizona for Flagstaff Creepy Con, where we will feature celebrity guest hosts and partner with Kids Need to Read for a book donation drive.

Wrapping up the episode, we answer listener questions and tease that an official Blu-ray and DVD announcement will be coming within the next 30 days. Looking ahead, next year promises a jam-packed production schedule, including finishing Z*Con, filming Arbor Day 2, and putting a spotlight on new films from John Johnson.
